I started out by making a simple polygon cube with no interactive creation.
step 2 of 9
I put the 'smooth' function on my cube twice. After that I selected 2 edges in the center and hit bevel on them so they would form that small crease. I selected the faces of the bevel and extruded them inward.
step 3 of 9
As you can see, I had several runs of making the popcorn model. I selected various faces of the top of the cube and extruded them out. Once I had the extrusions how I liked them, I hit smooth.
step 4 of 9
Now I have my model the way I like it, it is time to create some backgrounds, camera shots and textures.
step 5 of 9
For the popcorn texture, I created a blank, plain white document and messed around with the airbrush and yellow-ish paint colors.
step 6 of 9
As for the background texture, I made a carnival/ movie theater-themed patter. I created a blank document with a cream colored background and added a red-striped gradient across it.
When I applied the textures, I did have to rotate the background pattern because of the angle and the direction in stripes.
step 7 of 9
Before adding the textures, I made a plane and used soft select to bend it like a photography studio setup.
step 8 of 9
I now can add my textures and setup a camera shot. I didn't really use much lighting on this image.
step 9 of 9
Alas, the render is ready to save. Make sure to go to your render settings and set your resolution, dimensions, etc.
