Shape from source is selected , moved to new canvas, then liquify warped into wings for butterfly.

Another shape in source is lassoed and shaped into butterfly body. Wings have been refined using the shape developed in last step.

From another shape in source, the flowers are created using liquify warp, smudge, and eraser tools.

A branch is started here using a shape from the source. This branch will be duplicated and resized many times to form the 'tree' for flowers. Liquify warp tool was used.

Here the branch has been duplicated and tree begins to form by resizing and rotating the branches.

Butterflies are reproduced in various colors, and some formed from side view.

Butterfllies are being added after duplicating and resizing. They will be in layers over, behind and between branch layers.

Source image is warped into an interesting swirl design and will have a gradient layer over it.

Background layer has been added and a gradient layer placed over it, then lightened in opacity to allow a swirled look to show through. A render soft omni light will be added to this layer.

Now flower shapes are added by duplicating, resizing, and rotating them. Buds will also be added, made from the flower shape using smudge and eraser tools.

Finally, buds are added, and shadows and highlights are added throughout the image using burn and dodge tools.
