Modelled the cutlass using splines to create the shapes. Lathed the handled and converted the blade to polygon then added a shell modifier.

Chopped him up for his arm leg and skull. After modelling the chest with poly modelling and using splines to create the strapping, I arranged him carefully into the positions I liked.

This is the final scene set up in vue. You can see the dune terrains and the chest. I also created a hyper-terrain using metablobs, and displacement mapping for the large rock in the background.
