A Work in Progress: Sea wanderer

Start with the shrimp since it will be the basement of the final image.
I used Clone tool to make the unnecessary details such as the blurry shrimp and the unwanted part of the main shrimp disappear. Continuously select different sources on the image to avoid the noticeable repetitions.

After removing the two claws of the main shrimp, I cut the mantis' claws from the second source to replace them (the shrimp on the background I didn't finish replacing yet)

Brough back the head of the shrimp from the bottom layer (I intended to replace it with other thing but then I changed my mind)
Put the eye of the mantis on the shrimp to replace its own eye.

The wings of the mantis were put on the back of the shrimp, I used clone tool to clear all the exposed part of the shrimp's back. To fit the wings on the back, I used Free transformation and Puppet Warp tool.

The same action was done to the abdominal part. I put in on a layer under the wings.

The feather on the head of the peacock was put on the head of the shrimp. I used Eraser to remove the original background of the peacock and use soft brush to draw the losing details of the feather.

Match the pattern of the claws and the shrimp using brush to draw on a new top layer. Now I want the shrimp to have the uniformly green color so I chose the method to change the color of the whole image. Merge all the layer created so far, then duplicate it then use the Selective color tool to change the red color into green.

Brought back all the original colors except the one on the shrimp. Use Eraser tool to delete the original part on the new green layer to reveal the bottom layer. So now I have a green shrimp-like thing on the original background.

To finalize this image, I merge all the layer and export as a new file and playing the colors of this image. Basically I changed the color curve, color balance and added some highlight. Cropping the image also contributed to the final effect.
