Mood set by copying the background layer and; to the new layer changing the levels, setting the blend mode to multiply, and lowering the opacity.
The Lunar Cell planets were layer masked to help the shading, their layer blend modes are lighten and the opacities were lowered.

Using various shaped and sized brushes painted some stars.
The mood was set some more by adding Levels,Vibrance, and Curves fill/adjustment layers.

The rockets textured and rendered. They were saved as PNG files.

Rockets positioned in the scene. Levels and brightness tweaked. The exhaust fires were made with the paintbrush and smudge tool. Onto several layers color added and smudged each layer blend set to screen and linear dodge.
