step 1 of 7

I used this model because I liked the dress, the way her head was tilted and the hat.

I used color overlay to change the color of the metal, then made some frames for the goggles. Everything else is paint. I painted the eyes open, painted the skin darker, warped the hair and painted the feather.

step 2 of 7

I used this model because I liked the way she was standing.

I painted the corset and used color balance to change the color of the first models dress. I also cut the arm and arranged it behind the skirt. I used a mask on the skirt to reveal the leg.

step 3 of 7

After shading the corset using burn, I created a couple of sprockets, colored them and used them as clasps on the corset. I painted and shaded the piping on the corset.

To make the lace, I first used the pen tool to create a grid, then painted a rose on it. I then tiled the lace until I had a big enough piece to work with. I did the same with the stockings pattern. After making enough lace, I used warp and liquify to ruffle it and burn to shade it.

step 4 of 7

I used the top of the skirt to make the peblum and added lace. Paint to shade the skirt and more lace.

step 5 of 7

First, I painted the shape of the boot, used burn and paint to shade and then added lines for different sections of the boot. The eyelets were made using the circle one brush in assorted brushes and the laces were painted and shaded.

That dark blob is the painted back of the skirt. I painted the garter and added lace. I used clipping masks on the leg to make the bits and parts fit nicely.

The back leg was done in the same fashion.

step 6 of 7

I distorted the large brick to make the sidewalk and the curb and also distorted the cobblestones for the road. I used the clone tool to clone out the nails for the side of the door and used the iron work from the door to make the handle.

step 7 of 7

Shading and fog effects using a large soft brush. Because she's supposed to "live in the gutter", I made my girl look a little rough by putting patches on her clothes, tears in her hose and gloves and smearing dirt on her and her clothes.
