First thing was to mask out figures

next I started to paint out bkgd. did not use cloning tool, just sampled colors and painted with soft brush.

separated parts of figures to be warped and made to look melting.
made several copies in case i didn't like the steps I was taking, since I was not sure how I'm going to proceed with this step.

tried the transform tool

moved dancers toward bottom of frame and masked out parts I was going to melt.

More melting using liquify and puppet warp, tried to make some kind of "splash" with red ribbon, but I didn't like it.
