Flipped the image and changed the grasshopper's color.

Removed the girl from her background and bike. Took off her arm so I could reshape it when needed. Lasso tool then layer mask to clean up the edges.

Put her arm back on in the right direction. Did more arm work later to reshape and recolor. Made the top of her dress.

More dress work.

Resized grasshopper and got rid of his original shadow. Made a harness so she's controlling the grasshopper ride. I also went in and made her hair longer with painting and smudging because her bangs were very short.

Crop image, fixed grasshopper shadow and removed the big leaf shadow in the background because it didn't match up with the rest of the shadows I was creating. When I make shadows I just paint a black blob in the general size and shape I want on a new layer, then blur and lower opacity to where I want it. Removing the leaf shadow was done by painting and clone stamping.

I also lightened the girls skin which was very reddish is some places so she looks more ethereal but her skin is also more even.

Mint leaves added to dress.

Pink and purple petals added to dress.

Crafted hat from purple flower, adjusted color a bit and little bobble on top of had is pink lotus flower. Gave the hat and bobble a shadow as well.

Made the neckline of dress from the pink flowers. Added the belt on the brim of the hat and her dress waist.
