Cut out windmill and also cut out blades separately. I decided to use only the blades in the end. These are more brown than the original because I was experimenting with color overlays.
This is a combination of three layers. The cyclone source as a background layer, a layer of plain blue as a hue overlay to take away the green from the background and the last layer is the clock on top. The clock was blurred with a radial blur and the layer blend mode is subtract.
Copied and pasted the rotated blades from step 2. The layer effect has an orange tone color overlay blended on color burn mode. It also has a small drop shadow to bring the blades forward slightly. I added another layer of the clock, blurred it with radial blur and blended it with 80% soft light.
Cut out the clock hands and numbers separately and put each on individual layers. Moved the numbers around so they are all mixed up and out of place.
Made the numbers and clock hands pop out slightly by using layer styles. Each layer has and inner glow, outer glow, drop shadow, inner shadow, color overlay.
Merged all layers, adjusted levels and saved as jpeg.
