For my first attempt at this, I used the cheetah pattern in ai. For the horizontal hinge piece, I found a woodgrain in ai and used that, I prefered it over the metal look. For the clasp, I first drew a rounded rectangle, then warped it to an arc to get that shape, then applied the cheetah pattern, but I changed the scale of the pattern. Underlying layer has an inner shadow also. Good tutorial, thanks! (5 years and 3351 days ago)
