I use christmas tree lights for the bokeh effect in this photo.
Place them in about 8 meters away from the camera & i use manual focus & zoom to blur the background completely.Then i place the class on a table & slowly i start to pull away the table from the camera until the class was clear(in focus).I use a flashlight from behind the glass to light it.Zoom 15x - Iso 100 - f:3.2 - 1/8 sec exposure.
You don't need to do all this if you have lens with aperture smaller than f:2.8 f.e (1.8 or 1.4).You should try it...is very easy!
