Part of the drive shaft housing from a large marine diesel engine. The plate is approximately 5ft across and was found on the rocks behind a large 10ft high bank of rocks; this for me only emphasises the forces of nature! (5 years and 3612 days ago)

Maybe if you cropped out (or zoomed in if it's accessible for another shot) some of the less rusty links to emphasize the corrosion more.

Metal isn't reddish-orange colored unless it's corroded. Did you even bother to look at it in high res? See the screws?
