We've got a lot of talented photographers here. But, are they really talented, or do they get their "talent" from the expensive and sophisticated cameras they have? They have to prove to us that they really have talent in this contest.
Your goal is to take the worst camera that you have (mobile phone cameras would be very appreciated) and show your talent! You may photograph anything you want, but mention in the description box what camera you used and its number of megapixels. Good luck!
Required level: 10+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
tathaastu: Very clever. Good one. ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
Celestial: Great topic! I wish it wasn't restricted to 10+ ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
K2: I wish it was for all levels ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
Lodd: Oh. can i use a Canon. he he he ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
Mekun: Why block lower level people from contests at all? Its one thing to allow new people a chance from competing against pros, but are pros afraid of competing again noobs? ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
Lamantine: don't call them noobs please , because they aren't noobs, they are just beginners ( 5 years and 3573 days ago )
adeincyprus: they are not all beginners lamantine, some are just new to the site! ( 5 years and 3572 days ago )
anarchick: i wish this contest would be open to everyone.... how can you tell then if the "pros" are really "pros" without comparing them to "lower people"? huh? i think that was this contest's goal.... ( 5 years and 3572 days ago )
iquraishi: yes lamantine, adeincyprus is right.. they are just new to this site not to their talent.. some maybe. But yes these kind of contest should be open to all.. P.S. all my photography entries are from phone camera ( 5 years and 3572 days ago )
wind: I want to suggest to our mods to allow all levels in this contest. Adeincyprus is right! ( 5 years and 3571 days ago )
Celestial: here here! ( 5 years and 3571 days ago )
Contest Moderator: a good point, but then it is also a way for the newer users to gain the levels needed to be able to participate in the higher level contests, and also encourages the less experienced ones to think more about their work, to make it better and then be able to participate in the higher level contests. If all contests were open to all users, then some people would not find the enthusiasm to improve....... ( 5 years and 3571 days ago )
locksmagic: I totally agree with the mod here, When I first got on here I wanted to enter the higer contests bad but I was just starting in photography and it gave me something to strive for, and along the way I learned a ton. Each contest brought a new challenge for me and forced me to learn. I actually wish there were even higher levels. ( 5 years and 3571 days ago )
UncleJimmy: Agree w/ locksmagic and Mod...a level 18-20+ contest would really make you think about an entry and to the others...sometimes it goes both ways...with the 8- contests, some of us who can't enter have great shots for those contests too and are 'biting at the bit' waiting for our chance to get ahold of that subject too... perhaps the contest (10+ and 10-) should be swithched each following week to give a chance to see how each of the levels handles the same challenge??? ( 5 years and 3571 days ago )
Contest Moderator: a good idea itsmy, maybe Mr M will consider this..... ( 5 years and 3570 days ago )
FallingHorse: I don't think meagpixels really count - my P&S has the same as my dSLR - it should read sensor size which is probably little more appropriate considering picture quality ( 5 years and 3568 days ago )
iquraishi: really cool idea itsmymoment.. I love it.. a contest this week for 10+ and the same next week for 10-, is this your idea, let me know if i got it right.. ( 5 years and 3567 days ago )
UncleJimmy: iquraishi: yes indeed, that is the idea, to swap the 10+/10- contest every week...the added bonus would be that since you knew of at least one of the contests everyother week, it should lead to some really nice planned entries, at least that's my thought ( 5 years and 3565 days ago )

I've got to say this is an absolutely beautiful shot, I don't know what about it appeals to me so much but I keep coming back to it! Superb work author!
beautiful, but not sure if 3.8 qualifies, and I bet it wasn't cheap when new.
author says:
What does cheap mean? When I bought it in 2003, it was a 2 years old camera, so it was cheap then. The technology develops so quickly. Let's compare a new 3mp mobile phone camera and a 9 years old digital camera. Which one has better sensor, better features?
If the mod says the 3.8mp is too much, I will raise red flag.
Compared to the newer dslr cameras that some of us are using, like the d90 or the 7d a 3.8 mp camera is very cheap!
author says:
Well, unfortunately my 3.8mp entry is the highest in this contest, but I think the resolution is not the most important parameter of a cheap camera. The features and the technical issues of a 9 yrs old p&s camera make it really cheap.
Btw, the contestants usually upload reduced size photos into the contests (mostly less than 1mp), so the cameras' resolution do not give any advantage.
Taken with a point and shoot Coach 1.0 meg, I liked this one as it had all 3 falls in it plus a rainbow. Shot at sunrise.
I think the camera cost me around $8. (5 years and 3571 days ago)
GREAT!
wonderful, well spotted.
This is truly awesome!
A really great shot; was it posed or were you just speedy on the taking?
Thanks all for nice comments
@barracuda: I noticed the reflection into the lens and I asked him to take a picture
