Most of us know somebody who looks just like someone who's famous.
Compose a shot that portrays this person as the famous person's doppelganger, but don't tell us who it is. Put a clue in the title/description and let us guess. Entries should be judged on creativity as well as composition.
Actually it's one of those battery-operated push-lights that you can mount anywhere, like in a closet. If you look at the high-res, you can see how we used electrical tape to hold it onto his chest.
okay, even in high resolution it still looks like photoshop and I can't see any tape. BUT wouldn't there be a sort of glow around it if it were a real light?
Locksmagic ill just point this out, your comments just make you sound like a small man. SO now your ganging up with other people to take shots? Hey i know if you dont like peoples comments Ignore them.
Not sure what Mekun means by ganging up with other people to take shots? I thought this was a community of sorts? Anyway - I know what those lights are because I happen to have a couple of them myself - cheap little plastic jobs that I used as a night light for my son - I brought them for the low light output (so they don't attract so many bugs). Great idea author & handsome model too hah ha ha lol
author says:
Fallinghorse, thank you for your support! To be honest, I was hoping for more of a glow from the light like k5683 mentioned. But like you said, they have a very low light output. (I guess 2 AA batteries just don't stand a chance against 160 w/s monolight.) I'm sorry that people feel like this shot was a "gang" effort. I appreciate everyone's comments, but I hope they do understand that I obeyed the rules as set by the mods.
Ok guys, cut it out..........this is not a boxing ring!
@k5683........maybe, before you go making comments like that, you need to be more sure of what you are about to say......just my opinion of course!
Woah people woah! I'm sorry author but it was just a question. Once you explained to me that it was a light, I was then curious as to why it didn't glow and I'm sorry if my eyes are not good enough to see any tape around it (still don't). I'm sorry if you took it wrong. It wasn't an "administrative issue", it was more like "what is it, how did you do it" and yes I said it looked photoshopped, but hey there are many entries that are so good they looked photoshopped -so you should feel proud. Maybe all of you (including adeincyprus) should go back and read my comments again without being defensive. And all the other people arguing made my comments look even worse :o
Author, I am truly sorry- I didn't mean for it to be such a big deal.
By the way Locksmagic " I'll point this out to you yet again, from the commenting guidelines "DON'T comment on 'administrative' issues of the entry (such as being off-topic for example), but raise a red flag instead." Does this comment look familiar to you "Not to be picky but this isn't someone filling their tank, it looks like he's washing his windshield." ??
I was talking about your tone, The author and locksmagic worked on this shot together. The shirt in the pick was locksmagic. You point the rules out but did you remove the pic that you used photoshop on? Come on dont point out rules and not follow them yourself.
k5683, I truly don't mean this to be offensive to you, but maybe we should just drop things now. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to make amends of the situation, but your last comment seems like it will only add flames to a very heated (and somewhat silly) argument. Tensions are high, and I respectfully suggest that everyone involved take a big, deep breath and relax. We are a community here, and we have to remember that people may not always see eye to eye. In the end, we are not simply a group of random strangers from across the globe who have never met each other...we are Photographers.
And if its any consolation, I could definitely see why someone would think the photograph was chopped. Upon viewing the high res, however, it becomes apparent to me that the photo is genuine. So great job, author!
@ ade, Thank you for your comment! I'm still new to pxleyes and have no desire to cause any problems amongst members or moderators. Like FallingHorse said, this is a community and I value the counsel and opinions of everyone on here. However, I do think we can all be more civil and diplomatic in expressing concerns.
@ k5683, Apology accepted and thank you very much! However, it is a bit contradictory to apologize and then comment again 15 minutes later to egg the argument on. But don't worry about it. What's done is done. In the future though, we should all take ade's advice and not create a boxing ring on someone's entry.
@ Everyone, Please if you have any further comments on this entry, limit them to constructive criticism of the photo itself. I respectfully ask you to keep all private arguments in private channels. Thank you!
HOLY CRAP! Amazing!
what is that white spot? It looks photoshopped.

I see a top entry here.. excellent.. he definitely looks like him.. well not exactly..
Definitely a dead ringer for Robert Downey Jr.

Not when there's a 160 w/s monolight 3 feet away washing it out and your using a 1/250th shutter speed!
Ok just so there will be no more argument I just took shots of the shirt and put them in an album on my profile, go ahead and check them out.
