"Practice makes perfect," and many artisans take steps to ensure their final product will be what they had in mind. A "maquette" is a small sculpture made as a trial or sketch for a larger piece.

Your task in this contest is to take a shot of a maquette. Any style is acceptable; an airplane, a boat or even a house. Good luck!

ziggyx2003: True, but they are very hard to come by, I have made numerous phonecalls, to local council, architects, arts college and no luck. ( 5 years and 3468 days ago )

kyricom: That may be true, ziggy, but it doesn't make other things automatically on theme. There are often contests I can't enter because I can't find what they want around where I live. ( 5 years and 3468 days ago )

ziggyx2003: I agree with you and living in a smaller town am in the same boat as far as entries are concerned. Of course this does not mean I may not try it on, entries that are by some deemed off theme have won or placed in the past. ( 5 years and 3467 days ago )

This "little town" is a loose mock up of some building types we have in our town. We use these buildings at work for training. We "simulate" different scenarios (a fire shown here) and then simulate tactics, command, etc. as we would in a real life scenario. (5 years and 3467 days ago)
