I definitely see two books, but I'm not sure I see the relationship between an atlas, a globe (maps) and Serpico ( a story about corruption in the NYPD)

There's two books but your focus is on the one sitting on top of the other, hence probably making it look like there is only 1 book at first glance. Another book on top of the Serpico would have helped or a different POV.

Well... it looks like you can either paint or photograph the mushrooms you grew while gardening as you keep a look out for birds that want to eat them

If I say the word "book", this is the very image that comes to my mind. Wonderful shot!
If you could have avoided the name of (any) author, the shot would have a more symbolic impact IMO. Nevertheless, it's great!
