Take a plain cardboard box, which is just open on top (don't make extra holes in it), and put one or more items in it. You can decorate the box on the inside or not and - or create a scene in the box using any items you want. If you want to make a magical fairyland, you can. If you want to make it commercial presentation for a product, that's also possible. Whatever you want, goes. You do not have to use the box with the open side standing up, it is also allowed to put it on the side. Just 2 catches: it has to be clear it is in a cardboard box, and you cannot use the original item which came in that box (so do not photograph your new camera which is still in the box).
jawshoewhah: This sounds like one of those projects you would get assigned to do in the 1st or 2nd grade. Now you want us to photography it? Nice! ( 5 years and 3366 days ago )

And I can see how you did it. Your light was in the box and the shot is a delayed exposure, probably using a burning cigarette for the effect? How close am i?
Still very cool effect and my fav.

thanks for your comments, thanks no cigarette. I placed a flashlight in the box, and used 30 sec speed at camera. Then with a small flashlight i drawed the lighting lines.
Very nice shot !!!
If I had something to say about your picture : You gave too much place to the dark part under the light. I think you should have give more space above the smoke lines to let them breathe and less dark in the bottom.
well done
Very, VERY nice (but I think the title should be "Pandora's Box." )

awesome. now this is a creative way to approach the "box". nicely done!
