I agree. Don't be shy with the controls, but at the same time, don't overdo it. One of the downsides of HDR is the images can stop looking real, and it is so easy to do that.

Thanks for your comments. But one of the reasons I took this shot was the "lack" of color. It's pretty typical coloration for that time of year around here.

Great idea, and perfect for HDR, but it's lacking in detail and depth. Also too much foreground and cropped at the top. If you can, try a re-shoot.

You should have straitened your horizon. This angle makes the lake looks like all the water is about to run out. Next time...
