think i'd have paid closer attention to the nails at this sort of closeness. i mean...a fresh coat of paint and perhaps some filing is in order.

I was trying to create a stronger contrast between the fingernail and the skin. The skin is by nature very smooth and nice looking, so you cannot really change that. Therefore, it's easier to make the nail to look more "out of it" than the skin, which is why I chose not to have the nails done to the best they could be.

I actually think the rough edge works very well in this shot. Nice capture

I know what you mean author, but to me its distracting from the skin which is the focus of the picture. Perhaps its my own peeve, and no one else is distracted by the nail, unfortunately for me my eye keeps looking at the nail. :P

I kind of agree with jadedink... it's very nice focus and lighting etc. ... but the nail is kind of freakin' me out

I was having other thoughts..

Backlighting something brings out all it's details k5683 (thats the point of this technique).
All so any opinion or critique is well come as long as it not insult any one.

Every one has the right to do what ever he/she want's with his/her body....so even if those are fake isn't basically yours or anyone's problem.
We are here to express our selves through photography so it would be nice to stick to it.

Friiskiwi... No it's not a macro (as most of the other entry's).Is the closest my camera can get so if you want you can easy red flag it.

sorry, but I really didn't think they were boobs. I didn't mean to insult anyone because I really thought this was something other than boobs. and it seems I'm not the only one who wasn't sure either.

I wanted to make it a wee bit darker to better color the ridges.

Plus my palm was a little hairy so I had to photoshop it out
