As wonderful image as this is, I feel that the focus is more on the flag and surroundings than the gravestone. IMHO I probably would have tweaked the levels a bit to give it more presence and depth. You are on the right track by using BW though. Just a couple of observations, hope I don't offend you.

I agree with dollmommy, but it is an interesting juxtaposition to have the American flag, but the Confederate flag on the tombstone

i think this would be better without the flash.

I agree that is the first thing that struck me as the flash creates a shadow

What's goin on here? This white/fog is not really nice =/ And I can't figure out what is this flashy thing... This needs to be reshoot, IMO.

shot through the window of a car? with a flash on? i'm with mikael...needs a new perspective.

the photo wasnt taken out of a car window. i was at a cemetery on a cold foggy night. i like the way the fog sits in the photo, i dont know why, but i do and thats why i entered it, all the photos that night were foggy. as for the glowing line, im not to sure what thats from.

will check through and see what i can see..had quick looks but didnt take much notice about what was hiding in the photo..although i do have a photo on here where my camera went silly and somehow made a photo that was a couple shots in one and on different angles...bit weird

uploading now..also have uploaded another one with a weird blue fog bit...its prob nothing but it looks cool..thought it was reflection from my daughters torch, but its on the same side of the fence as me and shes on the other side
