gotmeamuse: Does it have to be a picture of pharmaceutical medication only? Some people in various parts of the world grow and process their own medication and I am wondering if a photo of these types of remedy's would be acceptable as well? ( 5 years and 3342 days ago )

Contest Moderator: We should not be condoning the use of illegal drugs, therefore, any shots of illegal substances, (in this list we will include: cannabis, heroin, marijuana, opium and other such narcotics,) other than those quite clearly marked as laboratory or medical specimens, are not allowed. gotmeamuse: 1st off I cannot believe that someone just erased a couple of questions I had with regards to what legal system we were referring to in order to determine the legal status. Different lands account for different laws, Some substances are more easily recognizable than others. By requiring one type of "medicine" to have proof of its legality or medical purpose then all the entries should be required to meet this standard. This issue was not addressed at all and my previous question was CENSORED!
The list given here of what is not allowed does not make sense. Cannabis and Marijuana are one and the same and perhaps the only non-toxic substances entered into this contest easily recognizable to anyone, and you are requiring it to be labeled as to its authenticity. That is a double standard.
The rest of the list of illegal substances "heroin , opium and OTHER SUCH NARCOTICS." is vague and mentions substances that are not so easily recognizable to everyone. I know that MANY illegal drugs come in pill form. Who is to say as to what is a legal substance here and what is not.
These types of issues are foggy at best. My initial question was in regards to "pharmaceutical medication". The reason for this being that in some cultures a glass of wine every night with dinner is considered a medicinal remedy to prevent heart disease. A picture of a glass of wine should be allowed for surely it is a drug. In some countries an illegal drug at that.
I am not trying to be difficult but merely trying to make a point and get people to think. Why do these questions need to be censored?

Contest Moderator: OK, I will make it easy for you.............. if you cannot get it by prescription from a pharmacy, or at the least over the pharmacy counter, it is off topic. I do not see why you need to make a big issue from it............ there are plenty of medicines universally legal that you can shoot, without having to look to the universally recognised illegal drugs. Aspirin, Paracetamol, Codeine, Cough mixtures, Sinus medicines, and what about such things as Vitamin pills, and Herbal Medicines, Foot creams, Antiseptic creams and gels...............there is a huge list without having to go down that avenue. jawshoewhah: Just take pot off the list and I'm alright with that. ( 5 years and 3340 days ago )

kyricom: Seems like the distinction is the ability to be "prescribed." My Uncle had his "medicine," as he called it, but it wasn't prescribed by a doctor. He "self-medicated." There are a lot of "medicines" (some legitimate and others not) that are not associated with the American medical/pharmeceutical establishment. Plus, what is medicine in one culture may be considered folklore in another. People may not agree on those items. But, what almost everyone COULD agree on is that if it is "prescribed" by a medically licensed doctor, in almost any culture, it could be considered a "medication." ( 5 years and 3338 days ago )

I wanted to make this entry as a response to the argument in the contest discussion. It just made me laugh really. So I came up with the concept of a cocaine line but made up of a normal medicine, this is doxycycline, an antimalarial totally legal from a pharmacy. (5 years and 3336 days ago)
