Seeds come in all shapes and sizes, but they all originate somewhere. Photograph your chosen seed, plus it's pod, shell or encasement. That does not mean the flower, plant or tree that it came from before it seeded! The emphasis is on the seed.

Okay well guys this is nutmeg, the normal spice. The seed is what we usually see in stores either as a 'nut' or ground down, the fancy red stuff is not exported but used in local cooking, this was from the island of Zanzibar where a lot of spices are produced.
Very interesting. Thanks for the info...but... what does the red stuff taste like, and why is it kept? Does it not last or travel well, or are you just keeping the really good stuff for yourselves?
