This is a great shot. I love the lighting on the oil and the bottle. One small critisism is that I find the streak of light on the pepper mill a little distracting

I think the light is fine, it's a necessary evil.

A polarizing filter, used both in color and black and white photography, filters out light polarized perpendicularly to the axis of the filter. This has three applications in photography: it reduces reflections from some surfaces, it can darken the sky and it saturates the image more by eliminating unwanted reflections.

Kara the great part is I have one,,,and I just used it for the same reason a couple days prior so now I feel stupid . Unfortunately I'm out of salad.

Rotate the image 2.6 degrees clockwise so it's straight.
You blown out your highlights a bit but it's still a nice composition .
