Your goal for this theme is pretty simple. Take a shot of the three letters "PXL" in a creative manner. You can add the "eyes" if you'd like, but that's optional. Good luck!
EmiK: So you can add the eyes using photoshop? ( 5 years and 3305 days ago )
UncleJimmy: I wouldn't think so....there are more ways to add eyes than PhotoShop....just use your imagination.... ( 5 years and 3305 days ago )
Lamantine: Yeah, James is right, the "eyes" can be added in a creative photographic manner ( 5 years and 3304 days ago )
EmiK: Just making sure =) ( 5 years and 3304 days ago )
jawshoewhah: I'm just going to see if I can find PXL and forget the eyes, since i don't need them. ( 5 years and 3303 days ago )
CMYK46: Is this a photo contest, or a Photoshop contest? ( 5 years and 3301 days ago )
UncleJimmy: This is a Photography contest..... ( 5 years and 3300 days ago )
MnMCarta: Sooooo many great entries in this contest! I can't compete! lol You all give me such a teaching of thinking outside the box! TY! ( 5 years and 3299 days ago )

Edit: what a wonderful idea to post the SBS....I think this is a great idea and wold like to see some of the other more talented and established photographers here doing the same. It's a great teaching tool for the beginners!

Thank you for your helpful link captgeo.
I uploaded the SBS so anyone can see that controlling the light is very important in photography. You can transform ANY THING in to ART.It doesn't matter what it is.Compose it & try tones of lighting ways to bring out the best of your composition. You see...what i use here is 2 flash lights (2 euros each), my living rooms table & 1 piece of white paper. It's not that hard if you 'see" the final result in your mind first! Then you can compose it easily. No expensive light systems...just practice ppl with everything you got RIGHT NOW & you can make miracles.
what did you use to get them to stand up on their own?

Hot glued the measuring cups together (wife wasn't happy) and stuck two small nails in between the last two cups. I used white paper backdrop on top of cardboard. I just stuck the cups' nails into the cardboard, same as the scissors.
Excellent entry as always from you author, I like the attention to detail you have gone to when preparing this shot, even wearing rubber gloves and everything.

Thank you Ory...I do have to thank my oldest daughter for being my unwitting victim for my madness this week. This isn't a shot I could have pulled off without her help. I really appreciate all the comments and support lately from all the members which drives me to be more creative in my newer entries....thanks again all!
I think I like the whole idea of this one the best, and love all the lighting etc. It is probably just me, but the blurred thing on the left hand side steals my eye (and it shouldn't) great job though!

I like the imagination, but it seems kind of busy. I think I would have liked it better if it was in the pan or just the letters by themselves on the plate-not on top of other pancakes. JMO

thanks guys!!!! and yes...my avatar has mysteriously disappeared...I couldnt get it clear...so I guess It was removed And k5683 I do agree somewhat with your opinion...but I found that when I shot it with out the other pancakes...it did not look like pancakes. But they sure did taste good after the shoot!
