This contest is actually about entering 2 different or identical photos in one (don't use the same photo twice). 2 Photos which work together, complement each other, or contradict each other. Together they should tell a little story. For example, you could enter a mother and child, a different perspective on a theme, a house from the same perspective and angle with 2 completely different skies and so on. You can place both photos next to each other or on top of each other, a little space in between your photos is allowed but borders are still not allowed!
You are allowed to use photo-editing software to create your diptych.
Info on how to make a diptych.
Required level: 5+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
magicsteve: Excellent idea. This should yield some very creative results. ( 5 years and 3357 days ago )
jawshoewhah: I think I need more examples of the theme. ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
robvdn: Search at Flikr Jawshoewah and you find enough examples http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=diptich&w=all ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
jeaniblog: Errrr....may need a little help with this one!! ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
jawshoewhah: Thanks Rob, that helps. It looks like as long as each photo is similar to the other, it's on theme. Do the photos have to be the same size?
Honestly, I think for this type of contest, maybe we could slide on the border rule? ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
maclu2iaf: this is cool! keep on the good work Mr Rob! ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
cocor: what is the border rule please? ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
jawshoewhah: They're not allowed at all, Cocor. But I think in this type of contest, it's not a bad idea. ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
maclu2iaf: BTW can we limit this up to 4 photos rather then 2? It will be more interesting. ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
cocor: josh I understand the border rule must not be used, but I don't know what the border rule says! ( 5 years and 3356 days ago )
jawshoewhah: http://www.pxleyes.com/guidelines/photography/ It just says they are not allowed. ( 5 years and 3355 days ago )
MnMCarta: looks like I can't do this one either. I tried but have no clue how to do it in PSE. Guess I'm just too new at different stuff. Oh well. ( 5 years and 3354 days ago )
adeincyprus: There are some amazing entries in this contest...... ( 5 years and 3352 days ago )
Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
VERY cool. Teapot should be an inch or two higher so the bottom isn't cut off... but VERY cool shot
author says:
Thanks for the great comments and favs!
About the teaput being cut off: this is on purpose so it is more obvious they are 2 photos and thats what this contest IMHO is about.
We've been wanting to do a portrait of mother and daughter for a long time and this seemed to be an original way (to us) to do it.
Well this is awesome! Not sure what else I can say really...
Oh wait, a very minor nitpick is that when you have flipped one of the images the light source is now coming from opposite ends. Not a negative, but the only thing I could possibly find 'wrong'
Those are photo contests my friend...
Sbs is "optional" .
Can i help you in any way?
What it that you want to know about this entry?
I'll be glad to help you!!!!
I took the SBS question as asking how you did it. It's a lovely picture and I myself would want to know where the line is for the two pictures. It's cool how it's hard to find. I wouldn't mind seeing an sbs either though
First of all it wasn't me who "thumbed" down CrystleClears comment...it was some one else. I have no reason to do that! I am NOT that kind of person!!!
2nd:It would be nice if MORE ppl where add an SBS in their photos.
It's nice to help one an other!
Sbs after your "intense" request & doubts about if this is a single photo or two photos (because of the no visible line ) is coming soon...
Thank you!!!
I'm sorry to say this picture lost it Diptychness...
author says:
Thats because the diptyching line is NOT visible?
Shooting 2 different photos on a black b/g gives you the option to "stitch" the photos without having a "diptching" line.
From contests goal..."a little space in between your photos is allowed".
Not a "must"
So i don't understand, why this picture lost it Diptychness?
no author its nothing to do with the line...try to think about diptych photography concept, its not just stitching 2 photos, but that 2 photos must significantly related on each other...a message or a story created when both were combined..
author says:
So....
From all the entry's submitted in this contest you think that this one has no story to tell?
If so i would be pleased to red flag this entry & make way for the "story telling" entry's.
Respect

This is WOW!
COOL!
So clever..well done!
If only the bottom of the teapot wasn't so abruptly cut off, this would be perfect. Still a wonderful shot though author. Well done!!
So creative....Great Job!
very clever... love it
INdeed, very cool!!!
One photo helping another photo...cool idea.
