Thinking about this quote reminded myself of my trip to Africa.
This artwork is on the side of a school, in fact the best school in the district, not all the students can afford required textbooks and so the teachers painted some equations on the side of the building for all the students to appreciate.
To me this relates to the quote because the "art" is obvious, the "lie" is what we in the developed world tell ourselves to excuse that we could be doing more to help but do not and the "truth" is the desperation of the locals plight.
Also as an interesting side note; one of the formula's was incorrect but we didn't have the heart to tell the headmaster. (5 years and 3236 days ago)

While this man was cleaning out an old storage chest today, he found this old photo he had of an old relationship. It was many years old and had been stored in a wallet most of the time, being the only photo the man would carry with him. This would be the reason for the condition it is in with the paper pealing at the corners and the quality being so noisy and damaged. I think it add to the artistic appeal. However, the photo is a lie and it makes the man realize the sad truth that she has moved on, remarried and no longer has any interest in the man. The truth is rather bitter and cold, or so he tells me. (5 years and 3232 days ago)

TRUTH: Advertising makes things look cool and good for you.
LIE: Adds geared towards things that could be addictive are not good for you and don't look cool. Another lie could be what an addicts mind tells them is good because of the addiction. (5 years and 3234 days ago)
