A nail is a slender, typically rod-shaped rigid piece of metal, usually in any of numerous standard lengths from a fraction of an inch to several inches and having one end pointed and the other enlarged and flattened, for hammering into or through wood, other building materials, etc., as used in building, in fastening, or in holding separate pieces together.
Your goal in this contest is to take a shot of one or more nails, into the most artistic way possible. There's one catch though, the nail/nails should be fully or partially hammered into wood or any other material. Good luck!
Absolutely amazing. Great idea and just.... AMAZING!!!
I am actually speechless. One of the best photographs I have seen in a while.

Since most of these creative, dark and disturbing entries of yours all seem to have come from a frame out of a "Tool" music video, it's not too hard to guess who you are. It's a shame you had to turn to the dark side, Anakin ....
Oh and please don't send me another email about how much my comments suck. Thanks.
Thank you! I love this wood grain..Its just from an old pallet, but I wish I would have taken a few shots of it before I put a nail hole in it. It may make a beautiful photo itself.
I am going to take a macro of the crack, it has such a nice cavern look to it. it should look really cool in macro.
This is good...still some room for improvements.I f i was you i would use a paper box with more "texture" for the walls (to give a wet / dark / scary surface). The "death row" nail is a clever idea.I would place a "power lever" & a nail "guard" some where in the "room".Placing a corner on your frame adds a lot (isolation) but you could use a wider frame to include the chairs legs.Color is good...mysterious / cold.Every thing else is great IMHO & i especially like the electric evacuation!
Best of luck author.
@karaflazz - thanks, yes, I intended on having a red light, an undertaker with a mask over his nailhead, and an old knife switch, but ran out of time. That stuff is too time consuming, and, yes, your pictures were my inspiration for this.
Like Father and Son haha...Very GOod Idea and lighting...You're my fav photograph artist

Fantastic!! Great imagination, love it.. Fav..
Excellent..
its not nailed down to wood

yea if u have one nail it should be nailed in if u have multiple they should all be nailed in that is what it states!
I think they are nailed into the base...that is the way I see it.
Nice and beautiful !

I love the little book. In my minds eye, I see the father nail reaching out to turn the page.
