Very nice. I love raptors. Cropped a little closely, though
author says:
Thanks, kyri, but I couldn't have done any better. The monster's talons are missing from the original image. I was in a hurry to take the picture, lest it flew away.If I left it uncropped, (neologism, heh heh,) it would look even worse.
No offence author.. but I don't think he'll fly away in a real hurry seeing that it is a captive bird (the leather straps on his legs are a bit of a give away )
author says:
None taken, FallingHorse, only there was enough slack on the tethers, so that he could fly a little bit, or just move around if you wish.
I waited for a long time for these 2 to settle down enough to get a good shot of them both. They were very busy building a nest. Some Sharpening, Level adjust and cropping. (5 years and 3271 days ago)
Wonderful shot, author, I wouldn't have had your patience, I would have sedated them and make my own composition!
author says:
@val - How did you guess my secret? After I managed to sedate them (using one of those dart guns) I climbed the tree, wired them to the branches, climb back down and took the photo. Then, as I didn't want the SPCA on my back, I had to climb back up to un-wire them.
I am looking for an assistant for my next Heron shoot. If you are good at climbing trees and a crack shot with a dart gun I would seriously consider hiring you.
Pay's basically non-existent but I would give all the beer you can drink
Want the job?
