We had a contest about black and white maximum contrast in photos. Now its time to have one full color max contrast contest. Your goal, is simply to apply contrast to the maximum to a photo of your choice, using photoshop or any other photo editing software, and black ad white shots won't be allowed.
Required level: 5+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
friiskiwi: When googling High Contrast, a lot of HDR shows up, I assume that is not what you are after? ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
kyricom: It looks like some people are adjusting more than just "contrast." I could be wrong, but it looks like there's a lot of color adjusting in some as well. I think we're just supposed to take a color picture, and put the contrast on maximum ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
Lamantine: Yup Kyricom is right. ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
EmiK: So far many of the entries here are not in max contrast, even the ones that are most liked. ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
EmiK: Sorry I didn't mean to get on anyone's case, just an observation. ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
smokebigbird: I found when u maximise contrast the color gets brighter on its own. but thats just my opinion. ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
snappler: If you click "use legacy" when you adjust contrast in photoshop, you get a very different effect. Is this what the contest suggester as after?
Its an almost posterized effect. ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
kyricom: I think the theme is pretty clear... it says "simply to apply contrast to the maximum to a photo of your choice." It doesn't say to mess with saturation, or color balance, or hue, or legacy, or anything else. Just choose a photo, and put contrast on maximum. Yes, the colors will change some, but not like on some of these ( 5 years and 3228 days ago )
arca: There is a problem here ... before CS3 using max contrast WAS the "legacy" and ONLY produced a poster-like images with extremely clipped colours! There was no other option! So if someone is working in pre-CS3 (or possible some other non-Photoshop app) they may not be able to produce anything else without using other methods.
Perhaps a Mod could help with this! ( 5 years and 3225 days ago )
arca: Here is a link to a page that shows the difference between the Contrast function now and pre-CS3 http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-editing/brightness-contrast/ ( 5 years and 3225 days ago )
k5683: it seems as if most of these have just a hint of contrast, not maximum. ( 5 years and 3225 days ago )
friiskiwi: MODS, please clarify, are we after an ordinary high contrast image or the kind you get with old PS or using 'legacy' with the newer PS, which gives a very posterized image? ( 5 years and 3225 days ago )
xynric: i guess i will raise flags on the one i think that should not post here for not just adjusting the high contrast but messing with other colors? ( 5 years and 3224 days ago )
kyricom: xynric...you can't remove them, but it's probably happening if you're "refreshing" the page. If you refresh, it puts up the message again. ( 5 years and 3224 days ago )
