This contest is actually about entering 2 different photos in one (don't use the same photo twice). 2 Photos which work together, complement each other, or contradict each other. Together they should tell a little story.
You can place both photos next to each other or on top of each other, a little space in between your photos is allowed but borders are still not allowed! You are allowed to use photo-editing software to create your diptych. info on how to make a diptych
Theme this time is: night & day.
If your shot is not obvious, as a lot of them may not be, then a short description will help
One catch: the sun and the moon can be in your shot but may not be the main subject. Have fun!
Required level: 5+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!

robvdn: It's a diptych but not the same as last time... ( 5 years and 3349 days ago )
xogx2002: Honestly I think a lot of people including myself have grown a new perspective on how this can be done after the last competition. This will interesting to see what everyone has taken and how they will improved from last time. ( 5 years and 3349 days ago )
jeaniblog: Theme this time is 'night & day' boys! ( 5 years and 3349 days ago )
jawshoewhah: I'm glad I read detail about the "night and day" first. There's going to be a bunch of "Off-theme" entries. Have fun mods. ( 5 years and 3348 days ago )
friiskiwi: Wish they had put the Night-Day at the top for all the sloppy readers, like me, except for once I actually saw it. ( 5 years and 3348 days ago )
jawshoewhah: @ friiskiwi. Yeah me too, since I am infamous at blowing off reading contest guidelines. ( 5 years and 3348 days ago )
Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
excellent capture author, but it is not obvious it is about night and day. the frog is, or appears to be asleep on a ceramic plate of some kind, and then is shot as a silhouette on a leaf. Unless the silhouette is lit by the moon, this is off theme.
author says:
I thought it was fairly obvious so I am sorry for your lack of imagination. The black stuff behind the leaf can sometimes be referred to as darkness ...sometimes this stuff can be associated with night time. I was unaware that the guidlines said I have to shot the dark stuff by moonlight and not use a flash. Red flag it if you wish.
author says:
and I forgot to mention ... frogs generally don't sleep with their eyes wide open
I did not mean it had to be lit only by moonlight, only that it did not appear to be darkness. I think it was the lit silhouette that maybe threw me off the scent..........
and, I was not aware that frogs spent their sleeping hours on a leaf!......
author says:
Lol @ sleeping on a leaf - they are only on a leaf when not busy sleeping in my shoes that I leave on the verandah
What I was also trying to convey was the difference in their behaviour between night and day too - but maybe I missed the mark for the 'un-frog wise' lol
If I can chuck my 2 cents worth in here, I think these are two really well shot images. And for me is really well on theme.
I'd hate to see us get to the point where we're so pedantic about the rules that we lose all artistic licence. Nope, lets leave that can o' worms closed! .
nice !
