Drivenslush: Is there more to the song?.. I mean did I miss something?.. I listened to it, I read it.. but is there a Poetry version or something? Does it resolve or anything.. Lovely voice and all, but.. oh crap.. honestly I don't get it.. and I have a super open mind here.. guess I'm saying HELP!! ( 5 years and 3235 days ago )
Drivenslush: Help as in, what am I looking for to take a picture of... sorry, I'm a bit thick, I really don't understand this contest.. I looked at all the entries and everything... EEEEKKKKK ( 5 years and 3235 days ago )
magicsteve: Drivenslush, the song is somewhat open to interpretation but basically it talks about someone who is fed up with his life. Someone who has followed his own path and left the people/places that mean the most to him in order to follow his dream. Now, even though he doesn't regret his decision, he misses his old life and is returning to it (hence, "Going Home". There is no resolution as the song takes place in the middle of the man's journey; he is "going home" but hasn't gotten there yet. It can also be assumed that someone he loves dearly is waiting for him once he gets there. Thats how I see it, anyway. Hope this helps. ( 5 years and 3234 days ago )

Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
I think you mean "I'm staring out..." :P Awesome pic as always, though! Love the tones in your model's face.

Thank you magicsteve.I correct it.
This lighting technique is called Rembrandt lighting.
Rembrandt lighting is a lighting technique that is sometimes used in studio portrait photography. It can be achieved using one light and a reflector, or two lights, and is popular because it is capable of producing images which appear both natural and compelling with a minimum of equipment. Rembrandt lighting is characterized by an illuminated triangle under the eye of the subject, on the less illuminated side of the face. It is named for the Dutch painter Rembrandt, who often used this type of lighting.
-when i took this photo, a lady told me "you shouldn't do that, its not nice" and i replied to her "i'm gonna show this to the world"...
My ideology is nothing to do with that old guy..it was more about others ignorance..
So what do you think guys? (5 years and 3238 days ago)
Good response to the old lady, but really we should show this to the world, not ignore all those people who need help. My mom is close to being homeless because her disability has been cut, medical is now only paying for a few things, what's next? The only thing that keeps her going is my family sending her money every month. So I don't see anything wrong with this shot, we should not hide are short comings, cause otherwise how are we ever going to work on them.

Great use of shadows! Love that your model is crouched in the corner, as if the world has beaten him down and he is just trying to deflect the pain. Only criticism is I would have rolled his left sleeve down below his elbow (as on his right arm). Still, love it!
P.S., totally knew it was you. :P

Yeah, steve I was thinking the same thing. then the more i looked and the slight obscurity of the sleeve being rolled up farther than the other, the more I liked it.

very beautiful!
Stunning
wow,amazing capture author...well done
Lovely photo!
Thanks for explaining the lighting technique!
This is a very beautiful shot but more 'staring down thoughtfully' than 'staring out trying to hide the pain' imo..
Nice work, as usual. GL!
