Excellent costume and use of negative space in this one! The picture is a little pixelated though. Do you have a better quality version that you can upload? If not, try softening it up a bit (but not too much!) to hide some of the pixelation. All the best!
Thanks Magic! I tried to soften and denoise. Hopefully this is a better. I have a bout 10 shots of her in this but cannot locate the disc, still looking!
That does look better than the original! And dont' worry, we've all been there (losing a disc/RAW files). Hope you find it! GL
cute, and a bit like her I think in her younger years.
wow.wow,wow...even cuter then real one...GL author
Well, at least the hair is Marilyn. Kind of reminds me of Lindsay Lohan in a Marilyn Wig.
GL!
The dress is Marilyn too. You may be seeing Lindsey because of the age difference. this is my daughter dressed up for a costume party when she was 16, which was a couple years ago. Wish I had a shot of the full dress. I think the only thing missing is the mole.
You have a very attractive daughter. Makes me glad I have sons as I already have enough grey hair.
Haha kyricom! I have all girls and it is very stressful...well it was! They are all over 18 now!
Okay I lied...it's still stressful!!! uhg

Wax model?
cool...and clever...gl
Contest is over YOU WIN! GREAT SHOT!!
This this is a wax model, and I'm guessing it is, IMO, it's off theme. Contest guidelines specify some who looks like her, not a reproduction. It specifically says look-a-likes.
If it's a real person, my apologies and it looks like you have a winner.
if this is a wax dummy, then I agree with jawshoewhah, it should be considered off theme.
it kinda looks like the one that is in the very specifically themed museum in Amsterdam, good shot
Looks like a reproduction. Look at the hairline, especially to the left of her eye
the hi res is not particularly hi res, so not so easy to see any difference between that and this image here.
Well imo if this is a wax musum work then it is a staged look alike. nothing was in the rules stating live person only ,if we are going to get technical plus taking the time to go there is a plus.
But, it does say in the description 'look a likes', and it does say.. 'Enter your own portrayal of Marilyn Monroe. This can be someone you know, someone at at costume party or someone you just saw on the street'..........

@ Ade.... Terrible.....
I will say though it does have kind of enchanting quality to it, althougt her frizz definitely needs to see a hair stylist, it's not a bad entry, so GL
Yes, gl author!
While I see a blonde in a white dress, I'm not sure I see what's "Marilyn Monroe-ish"
personally, I don't think marilyn monroe would have been seen dead in that dress!!
Better chance right now, dead, than alive.

I adjusted image using high saturation and slight contrast. I read though rules and felt these adjustments would be acceptable. The original without saturation is close enough to resemble Monroe that I can replace with it if this image is not allowed. I liked this because it reminded me of Warhol's Marilyn art. cool...Andy's Mo....
I think it's a wee bit over saturated, but that's just IMO......
Yes, very much like Andy Warhol! Bravo!

Nice capture here but i have some suggestions to make.Merilyn in most of her photos wears simple / elegant jewellery. Her simple dress code & entire beauty was enough.I think that your model wears too much in this photo. Her left arm does not flatter the pose & makes her hair fall on her face hiding it.The look in her eyes is kinda "boring".The couch & the dress are excellent choice & so is the glass your model holds. She is beautiful, blond but the whole pose/attitude does not work (imho of course). That's that author & i wish you good luck!!!

While I agree with Karaflazz about the model's attire not fitting Marilyn exactly, it could also symbolize the dark side of Ms. Monroe that was kept out of the public's eye. It could also be a more modern interpretation of what Marilyn would be like were she alive in today's world. Still, I gotta say I concur fully about the arm; it does not flatter her.
That said, I think your use of the leopard print bedspread and champagne glass really work with this piece. The tones are well developed and I don't notice any highlight clipping at all (a challenge with such a pale skinned model). Very nice work, author!
Thanks... I think.
lol I meant that as a compliment, so you're welcome.
this was basically a candid, me just taking a break and sipping some wine, glad people like my dress ( i thought it was perfect), sofa covering (cheetah), champagne glass. this was really an unaware moment on my part. (needed a break after posing i think i ran and had a smokerette too). And yes I did add a spiked collar to the mix, I think Marilyn would have too if she had one, but remember diamonds are always a girls best friend!
i hope it's okay if i post as a model, and i sooooo appreciate and need direction in posing
Thank you luvs!
Decided to make a profile, I see?
I agree that Marilyn typically wore very minimal jewelry, which was fairly standard for the time period. And I really don't see her in studded dog collars.
Cool shot...gl author
Yes, I know the out fit doesn't help and neither does the lip ring. I should have better thought out her wardrobe, I'm sure. It more Madonna/Cindy Lauper with all the jewelry, myself. I guess was enchanted by the pose and the wine glass and her look more than anything.

Thanks for all the comments!
