honestly, aside from the vignette, i believe it is on topic.
and...Ade, if you were a mother of a wild little boy, you'd understand more. Sometimes taking the time to make funny faces with them is showing more love than coddling them. Its about the time spent, and how it measures up to the child. its not a picture perfect definition, as no love really can be defined in a dictionary or on wikipedia.

Oh, and for what it is worth, I am the father of what was once a wild little boy............we also had great times like these, I guess I just didn't think about it the same way.
I definitely think it shows love. Certainly gazing into each others' eyes (or whatever) is one way to show love, but not the only way. Sharing this kind of time, goofing around, especially between a parent and a child, builds a close relationship like no other. We don't do this kind of thing with people we don't like
