Definitely an improvement, but not quite the amazing changes we have seen in some other photos. Normally that would be a good thing, but the way I understand this contest it's about really pushing the boundaries.

I'd have to agree. When I thought up this idea, it was about pushing the curve levels and maybe pushing them a little more with this image might help but that's mainly IMO.
