Capture a flower image demonstrating depth of field (DOF) behind your subject. If you don't know what DOF means, have a look at these 100 examples. The challenge in DOF photography is managing to let the sharpness gradually decrease on each side of the main subject.
Required level: 15+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
jawshoewhah: I don't think so. Every photo having DOF, that is. ( 5 years and 3163 days ago )
friiskiwi: DOF = Depth of field, and I think in this case we are after s shallow DOF, not a deep one, but a gradual one. usually we try to have the background totally soft or totally sharp, in this case we want it to gradually get soft.
Hope I got it right. ( 5 years and 3163 days ago )
jawshoewhah: Are all the mods A.W.O.L. or is it just me? ( 5 years and 3163 days ago )
kyricom: There are some pretty shots here, but an AWFUL LOT of them do NOT "let the sharpness gradually decrease on each side of the main subject." ( 5 years and 3162 days ago )
friiskiwi: I so agree ( 5 years and 3162 days ago )
Contest Moderator: For the purposes of this contest I agree that a shallower DOF is the more desirable outcome for the image...I apologize for the lateness of my reply. If you feel an image is off topic, please use the red-flag to assist in the quicker determination of the shot being on-theme....thank you all for you patience... ( 5 years and 3161 days ago )
