Lovely story and photo, but I don't think you can do this kind of selective desaturation, It might pay to provide a SBS, if you have done it in a way that is allowed.

No on the desaturation? :/ Well, I'll upload an SBS, then.

What Tools/Alterations Can't I use?

As a general rule, you should stay away from selecting, masking or brushing parts of the picture. Tools to avoid are:

- 6.19.: Brushes in any flavor
- 6.20.: Clonestamp
- 6.21.: Patch
- 6.22.: Masks and any selections (magic wand, marquee, lasso)
- 6.23.: Adding or moving objects manually
- 6.24.: Liquify/warp
- 6.25.: Vignettes, watermarks or frames and borders
- 6.26.: Sketchy effects or filters that alter the original photo significantly
- 6.27.: Copy/Paste

The background is a special granite from Norway they call Labrador.

Very nice. My wife gave me one the day we got married.

(and, I'm not sure, but I think that might be the type of granite used by Vikings for ballast on longer voyages. Pieces of it are found a bit northeast of where we are off the shore, where it isn't found naturally, and it's one of the pieces of evidence they cite to say the Vikings visited North America)
