How about a 45 minute drive to the airport? I'm fascinated with airplanes, especially low ones flying in the sky or ones that are about to land. Enter amazing photos of low flying and landing airplanes only!

xogx2002: Called my local airport who informed me that they no longer have areas where you can view (due to security reasons), I'm sure our international airport near by won't be better.

rbsgrl: I don't know about everywhere else but if I get near an airport (private or international) in my city, close enough to get a decent photo (I don't have a lens that shoots far away), I would be in jail!
There aren't any parking lots near the airport where those photos can be captured. I could park and take photos at the Navy airbase but I surely don't want to go to the military jail!!!! ( 5 years and 3158 days ago )

friiskiwi: Parked planes aren't flying. So the planes have to be in the air. That is pretty clear.

I think since 9-11, none of us in America are getting near the outside of any airplanes and I just recently had issues for just shooting industrial warehouses for the industrial contest. No kidding? There were no warning signs, nothing! I set up to shoot this area with my friend, as a pano-HDR and I get two sets in and this guy comes out and says I need to leave and I ask why, because there were no signs and says he could just call the cops so we leave. Well a week goes by and cops show up to her door with a million question about what I was doing. I guess they ran her license place. I had to call them up and explain to them what PXLeyes is.

locksmagic: Ok friiskiwi tell me this, can you positively identify whether or not a plane is taking off or landing? I sure can't. This isn't life or death, it's a contest. If you don't like it flag it and vote low. We don't have to have a debate over word play. You are making this WAY more difficult than it needs to be. I've made the judgment call as I see fit. You don't like it? Then you try being a mod, when no matter what decision you make it's gonna piss somebody off. So you have to do what you feel is right. When these guys/gals (not sure who was flyin) flew by VERY LOW they told a story about each plane and I have to PROUDLY admit I had a LOT of tears in my eyes. I snapped the shot and stood there saluting as they flew by. Of course I took a few shots but this one really took the cake for me. I will never forget the emotion of these planes and those who flew them even now typing this. (5 years and 3158 days ago)
