I disagree. To me, the buildings give the antenna a sense of scale, and explain why the colors are so vivid on a dull sky by letting us know where the sun is at and that it is not covered by clouds.
Agree with Ray! Beautiful! One day I will learn how to do this long exposure thing!

Sheri, it isn't hard to do at all. Just get a sturdy tripod and a remote trigger and go to town! This shot was actually an accident. I had originally gone out to try and get some star trails behind the tower. When I first got to the location I noticed that there was a lot of light pollution in the BG so I didn't think getting star trails would be an option, then a few random clouds showed up that were moving fast so I figured I take a test shot to try and judge how long of an exposure I would need and this was the result! I was really surprised when I saw the image playback but thought what the heck it works
If it helps at all my settings were: f/5, 25sec exposure, iso 400 shot on a 5d Markii
You perhaps don't know that, but the Eiffel Tower owns a big Antenna at the top. We can easily say that the entire metallic structure of the tower becomes then a big antenna !
Even more, the eiffel tower owns 116 antennas on it ! (5 years and 3162 days ago)
Almost looks like some kind of space ship
This is simply amazing!
Nice shot -- wonder if a bit of CCW rotation would look a bit better -- maybe i just like vertical lines
This is beautiful! Very surreal!
great shot, but I would chop pout the buildings.
