Why, you kyri, with that eagle's eye of yours! The rice is for absorbing the moisture, also the set belonged to an outdoors restaurant, so no way for me to start tampering with the little containers. The police station was right next door...!

Oh, I grew up in Florida (very humid). We always had rice in the salt. But I wouldn't want you getting arrested just for a shot.
