kyricom: Oh Geez.... how many shots of pot are we going to have to endure? ( 5 years and 3147 days ago )
Contest Moderator: None Kyricom. Even though marijuana is technically an herb, the controversy that inevitably surrounds it makes it inappropriate for a family friendly website like Pxleyes. Because of that, entries depicting marijuana in any form will be removed. ( 5 years and 3147 days ago )
friiskiwi: Could we please have a clarification of 'herbs'. We seem to get a lot of lovely photos of flowers, which as far as I can see are not herbs. ( 5 years and 3147 days ago )
Momof4boyoboys: well I am not sure if "herbs" in a different language means flowers....but, I had Not intended it to include "garden flowers" although some herbs have flowers. I thought of the subject as I was potting my herb and vegetable garden...so I thought it would be clear, but maybe it is confusing. There are herbs we eat and herbs used for medicine and herbs we dry...so your call MODS on all the flower stuff. ( 5 years and 3147 days ago )
CrystleClear: i see a lot of flowers, not necessarily herbs unless it's chamomile ( 5 years and 3146 days ago )
mdsmphoto: Sorry but im not agree , just beacause my phto have herbs and 2 day after you told me no its is no a herb . ( 5 years and 3146 days ago )
mdsmphoto: herbs have a variety of uses including culinary, medicinal, or in some cases even spiritual usage. General usage differs between culinary herbs and medicinal herbs. In medicinal or spiritual use any of the parts of the plant might be considered "herbs", including leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, resin, root bark, inner bark (cambium), berries and sometimes the pericarp or other portions of the plant. CrystleClear: i guess i wont vote in this contest...and where are the mods at? dont they see half of these photos are off topic? if i vote how i want to vote in this contest i will mess up my vote power. ( 5 years and 3145 days ago )
rbsgrl: There are currently only two photos that may or may not be an herb. I think we need to give the authors a chance to explain if they are herbs or not first. ( 5 years and 3145 days ago )
rbsgrl: It would be helpful if the author gave the name of the herb so we can look it up. There are thousands of herbs, only a few of which we are familiar with. As far as the flowering type, you can get alot of information just by googling Flowering Herbs. There are hundreds of them. Here are just a few sites you may want to check out:

Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
A beautiful photograph, but could you tell us a little about what kind of herbs they are.
author says:
I'll do my best...
Red Berries - Chinese Wolfberries, they are benificial to the liver and your eyes
Dried Roots - Condonopsis root, they have many tonic uses
Fungus in the left side - Black Fungus (Auricularia polytricha), known for improving circulation
Dried Peel in the middle - Dried Tangerine Peel, they are actually just tangerine peels dried in the sun. They aid in digestion and soothes the stomach.
Heres my source for info

As for anything else in the photo, I am not sure...
Fabulous shot though IMO it is a bit dark. Of course I see this is what you were going for, I would just like to see a little more of the herbs. Great job overall author!
I always wondered what these were used for. I bought them for my yard (which is full of every herb I can get my hands on) just for the scent and the fact that these draw butterflys and bees.
