For this contest, your goal is to show us some dark skies. No rain or snow allowed in the picture. You can try it from different angles or even get a panoramic view, it doesn't matter what is under the sky, as long as the focus remains on the heavy clouds. No ground can be visible in your photo. As a tip, HDR photography looks stunning on this theme.
Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
friiskiwi: are buildings and trees considered ground? ( 5 years and 3084 days ago )
Contest Moderator: For this contest you CAN show the tops of buildings and trees, so long as they do not take up the majority of the picture. Showing anything below the horizon line (or the horizon line itself) will be considered off theme. ( 5 years and 3083 days ago )

Not trying to sound like a downer, but I'm not too impressed with the shot. I love the backlit clouds. They are just beautiful, but the sunburst is literally an eyesore for me.With the white outlining of the clouds and the white of the sun, it's a bit too much for my eyes to adjust from the dark to light so fast. But again, those clouds, beautiful. The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw them was "someone found the silver lining in the clouds"
I respectfully disagree, dem90. I love the sunburst. It adds extra depth and intrigue to the photo and separates it from the rest of the pack. Only wish we could see a high res. Still, great work author!
