I had my model where extremely red lipstick. Then I desaturated the entire image a lot and because red was the only prominent color I think it really pops now. I'd love to select just the lips and really push it further, but that would be for a photoshop contest :) I also had to use a curses move to brighten it up a bit. As well as a bit of overall color correction to give it that sorta green tone, and some contrast adjusting. The whole image was lit by one light bulb in a hallway. (5 years and 3074 days ago)
one word: WOW
I bow to you, 'Master of light'
absolutely wonderful composition and lighting... love it
absolutely wonderful would love to know how you did this
This is called "low key photography".
The point is to direct the light in a way that it creates lots of shadows & just some ares with light. That way you don't reveal too much of your composition, making the viewer imagine the whole scene by him self (reading/explaining the photo with his own mind / taste).
I love this kind of photography & if you google it you can find many tutorials / techniques to have such results!
For his photo i use a external flash light,a camera on a tripod & lot's of patience & clicks until i get the result i wanted.
thank you
Awesome capture - thanks for the tips
Your entries always stand out and the fact that you share your technique is extremely unselfish. Great shot. Gotta go and light my smoke.
