Thanks, friiski! At the time I was at a good friend's house,and, guess what? The big distraction in the background is the lettering on the cover of a big, illustrated book about photography, of all things!!!

Nice photo, perhaps just a little too dark.

i tweaked the brightness a bit to get a darker shadow....the photo looked a bit bland otherwise

Cute photo, guess this is the original crop, so you can't do much about the top and bottom, you may want to try and reprocess it though. The man and boy are really light and flat, while the background is really dark, That isn't too much of a problem, but you could try to get more life into the people.

This looks much better.
