kyricom: Our "city" only has a population of 2,000 people. Do cows count? ( 5 years and 3063 days ago )
jfish: Only if they are more intelligent that the people in the city ( 5 years and 3063 days ago )
drskn08: and i am in village... can village pictures be submitted or its exclusive for city life only ? ( 5 years and 3063 days ago )
Contest Moderator: The entry must represent the community you live in..... be it village, town, city, etc. A description will be mandatory to describe what or why the entry does in fact represent your "hometown". ( 5 years and 3062 days ago )
Derivatix: I find the idea o.k. but think any city should be allowed, not just the hometown. Anybody not living in Venice, Rome, New York, Hong Kong and other attractive cities with great skylines will be naturally disadvantaged. Pictures from small, unknown villages will have a hard time in a race against famous views.

My "beloved" city, as mentioned in the goal, is not my current hometown, it's L.A, I used to live there. I also used to live in Toronto and Zurich.

Just my 2cents. I did not intend to participate. ( 5 years and 3062 days ago )
drskn08: ok mod ! thanx... let me see if i can catch a good shot... ( 5 years and 3062 days ago )
kyricom: OK... just to be clear (I'm a little slow sometimes)... It HAS to be where you live, or can it be any city? ( 5 years and 3061 days ago )

I understand that that it has to be where you live. Although I find it's a moot point to make rules that cannot really be controlled. I work in Zurich, but I live in a small village. How will the mods control if the entry really comes from your hometown? I suppose I could upload anything as long as it comes from Switzerland... I did not upload anything, though. Contest Moderator: This is why a description is MANDATORY!!! Warnings have been given so that you may add it. When the contest ends on Friday..... any submission without will be removed.

The description must tell what it is about the picture that represents your hometown. Hometown can be where you live now or are from previously. "Hometown" is not a hotel room where you spent a vacation. ( 5 years and 3059 days ago )
jerostone: About this description thing, OK, fair enough, contest moderator, though, in all fairness this addition should have been included in the GOAL section, because this is what people read, more often than not without reading the comments that follow. This would have spared you the trouble of sending out individual warnings. ( 5 years and 3057 days ago )

I have recently moved to PA, but Watkins Glen will always be home! Its in upstate NY at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. My parents live there and our house is directly across the street from this harbor. We have a truly beautiful view :) I spend a lot of time out on the peer (this was taken from) when I'm home, plus the little building on the left is one of my favorite bars and they have the best burgers in town!!!
