The objective is to get either the object blurry from motion, and everything but the main subject blurred from motion. You have to have something in focus, like a runner in focus, but everything else blurry from motion... or the other way around: the runner blurry from motion, but the background clear.
poetress59: I am rather new to this site and I have a question. One of my photos was removed because of some question about it being my own photo because it was on another website. That photo had views and votes. I responded to the inquiry twice to clear it up but the photo was never put back in. I was the photographyer and do own the photo but allowed a friend/collegue to use it on her site for her as a promotional piece. So my question is why was the photo not put back into the contest or why are they automatically removed before the facts are found? ( 5 years and 2989 days ago )

Thanks Kushpatel & Friiskiwi. It looks good in high res, the horses face is really sharp. I was pleased with this beacuse at the time it was my first attempt at panning

Glad you at least find it interesting MossyB... it was a hand held 14 sec. exposure with 18mm lens with ISO set @ 100, while going down freeway trying to capture the lightning; don't know that I could do it less wiggly... lol
Simply perfect, author!
The water reflection, combined with the "main" focus is stunning. Great shot!
Wow!! Amazing...
Sweet capture; looks like the "click" of your lens scared the you know what out of that back mallard .... lol
