Stairs to the cellar, or Stairway to Heaven - we use stairs to go up or down from one place to another. Some are carved into mountains and some are beautiful parts of architecture, but they all serve essentially the same purpose.
Your task is to take an artistic shot of any type of stair. Good luck !

Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
Very cool. Love the pattern and exposure etc. Good idea to make it vertical, but did you try it the other way around so it looked like it was kind of expanding into the air? Just a thought.

Oh you guys are so kind, love all the comments. Gives me confidence that I need =)
And yes I have tried it up side down, but then you have light on the bottom of the pic. and then darkness on top, and I thought that looked depressing, if that makes sense.

Very cool. Be nice to have a high res. I would suggest cropping some from the left and the bottom to get rid of that tree. Then you'd just have that great white on black pattern with greys from the shadow.

I really like this shot. It reminds me of some film noire and/or some old horror films from the 20's and 30's. As far as the cropping idea goes, I'm not sure I'd crop the enitre set of bottom stairs out. It would have helped if the perspective was a tiny bit higher so we could see that first landing, then they wouldn't be so much of a "frame." I think I might crop out to the top of the lowest "bright stripe" and below, and leave the second dark stripe (from the bottom) and what's above it. Cool shot, though. Good luck.

Ok... Thanks everyone for your comments Its nice to know that people do look and are interested by your own work ...
I decided to set up for that shot Exactly where I was to avoid the landing area and include some of the steps that had led me all the way up there... the tunnels and stairs just seem to go on n on...
So Im going to leave the image the way it was shot, which by the way was lit with torch light on a remote control long expo
Thanks all
wow
This is like an optical illusion! I couldn't find the stairs at first... Great shot!!
thank you, indeed. This is why I thought it would be fun in B&W.
NICE.....great photo.
very inspired shot and clever thinking in resolving the downwoard curve by rotating the picture
Thanks again, yeah it sometimes happens to me that clever thinking, lol.
perfect.... the curving shadow of the metal stairs makes the photo stand out.
= ) Thanks
