Rooftops are part of architecture but most of the time not seen, time to change that and put them in the limelights. They must be the absolute focus of your shot. We are not looking for "landscape" shots here, just a single rooftop. Items (individual, ie...chimneys or antennas) are off topic. Focus on the rooftop! The idea is a SINGLE rooftop....
Required level: 15+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
whimsicalb: what is on theme? What is the photo has a chimney like the example. Is that off theme ( 5 years and 2983 days ago )

Contest Moderator: for further clarification...please note: that although the title is "Rooftops" we are looking for a single roof...no all-over or landscape shots allowed. ( 5 years and 2982 days ago )
MnMCarta: ok so if i get a shot of a roof then can next weeks theme be "falling off a roof"? hehehehe ( 5 years and 2980 days ago )
jerostone: MnMCarta, hazards of the... avocation. I nearly took a step into the big void, this morning, and, as for the pictures I shot, they really sucked! Time to move on to the next topic. Safety first! ( 5 years and 2980 days ago )

Love how the 'chook-pen' is seperated from the main bedroom. It is probably much cooler on the roof - would love to know a bit more about where this is.
I cannot imagine if it's raining Will they be soaked by the down pour? Or is there any other way to protect themselves from either hot or cold weather?
@ nator, yes it is indeed. If the author took a picture from the other side of the building you'd see a giant pair of sunglasses and oversized false teeth
roof top in baltimore. Old fort with grass roof. It acturally is a prison roof top. Very enviornment friendly in the civil war. (5 years and 2977 days ago)

Yes Amanda - there are chooks (chickens) on the roof near the satellite dish.
Sleeping under the night sky! What a bliss. A photograph worth its while, author.
I like this one a lot. It's a nice photo on its own, but it's got an incredible story behind the photo too, and that's why I think it's great. Bravo!
good capture... but bad manners !
