Duck Feeding - Photography Contest [8 entries]

Springtime Picture

Winning entry, with a score of:
66.4%
Contest goal:

Every (small) town has them and sometimes they are a plague, but we can never walk by them regretting we forgot to bring bread to feed them.

This is your chance to make up for that: gather some old bread and head to your local park (that's where they are usually found somewhere in the water, for those who do not know this), feed your local ducks and at the same time bring your camera. Geese are allowed as well.

This contest is about photographing feeding ducks, in your shot there must be at least 1 person (full, from head to toe) and 1 duck (either in or out of the water) Have fun and greet your local ducks from pxleyes!

drskn08: lol i have tried to feed the ducks seen at my neighboring but they don't come to eat my bread.. more over once one of them (a black one) jumped at me to bite me . lol now i will beat them to feed bread...lolz just kidding. ( 5 years and 3001 days ago )
RayTedwell: I understand the contest, but I just think this one is going too far in being prescriptive. Not a lot of room for creativity in this one (in my humble opinion of course). ( 5 years and 3001 days ago )
nita1983: nice...i work on a duck farm so i have about 20,000 ducks i can feed ( 5 years and 3000 days ago )
drskn08: yeah i agree with RayTedwell... duck feeding itself limiting the creativity. Rather it would be better to have only ducks or ducks in action... ( 5 years and 3000 days ago )
friiskiwi: having a 'whole' person seems a little over the top, surely as long as it' clear the person is feeding the duck, it should be enough?
Took my grand children to the nearest pond to day, had to cut up some fresh bread. Just my luck, they were not interested at all, could be because they had babies, but not even the seagulls would turn up, most unusual. ( 5 years and 2998 days ago )
jeaniblog: According to Wiki: 'Anatidae is the biological family of birds that includes ducks, geese and swans' ( 5 years and 2997 days ago )
cabldawg71: You are correct jeaniblog. All in the family ( 5 years and 2997 days ago )
MossyB: The contest doesn't state "Anatidae," it CLEARLY says "Ducks...Geese are allowed as well." Not genus, not species, just two specific types of birds. ( 5 years and 2996 days ago )
drskn08: i am not getting any one who can feed my ducks... they get scared and run away...lol so i finally give up... ( 5 years and 2995 days ago )
FallingHorse: Thank for th info Jeaniblog - I wasn't sure where swans fit in - especially since they domesticated duck and geese for meat birds, I wonder what swans taste like ( 5 years and 2995 days ago )
friiskiwi: Tried a wild swan once, tough and not very interesting. ( 5 years and 2992 days ago )
