Interesting effect, but it just seems a bit lifeless in black and white, although the wing is in excellent detail.

I knew some people would think it'd be lifeless in b/w, but I wanted to try it ... I wanted to translate the picture in another language than the coloured one.

Perhaps stronger lighting on the bee would have helped. Without color, it just loses a lot of the "bee-ness," and is merely a dark fuzzy thing with wings, IMO.

It's different and I like, nice mood.

wonderful backlight, I might crop some off the top and side too loose as much as possible of the black thing.
