Interesting effect, but it just seems a bit lifeless in black and white, although the wing is in excellent detail.

Perhaps stronger lighting on the bee would have helped. Without color, it just loses a lot of the "bee-ness," and is merely a dark fuzzy thing with wings, IMO.
As the wind blew quite hard at the time I try to capture the shot, I detach the leaf from the tree and lay it on the ground where the wind blew lesser, and after a couple of shot, composing and finding the angle, here is the result of the shot (5 years and 2962 days ago)
