Using your focal skills, take a picture of a hand holding a fork in front of another object, giving the illusion that the object is about to be stabbed with the fork, similar to photos of people "holding up" the leaning tower of Pisa. The larger the object being "forked," the better. Objects must be a minimum of 1 meter or 3 feet away from the fork.
drskn08: confusing... did not get the them... and the sample photo is also not explaining me??? if i am not wrong then the main point is the object we are supposed to stabe with fork...???? ( 5 years and 2994 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Think of it as a "Forced Perspective" photo.

drskn08: oh... is that so? i dunno whether i can get such pictures but i definitely like your link mod ! thanks ! ( 5 years and 2993 days ago )
emilymnewell: Is the fork to be in focus while the subject being "stabbed" is not? Or do we kick up the aperture and have all of it be in focus? ( 5 years and 2991 days ago )
xogx2002: This will be fun, I've been out for a while, need a come back. ( 5 years and 2989 days ago )
Contest Moderator: All should be in focus. That is the point of the contest, to make an object appear to be "stabbed" by the fork. ( 5 years and 2988 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Any entry submitted after 2000hrs GMT Friday 21st October will be removed. ( 5 years and 2985 days ago )
poetress59: Moderator, if that is the case then why does it still say "submit and vote" ? It is still saying I can submit 1 more entry, seems like if the cut off is at whatever time then the submit button should automatically be deactivated. Very confusing and frustrating as well when you spend the time trying to get the perfect shot to submit.

poetress59: yes I understand that, however when I place my two entries it didn't do that...so shouldn't that happen when the time of the contest has ended...shouldn't there be a automatic switch of the submit button at that time? I understand if I had tried to enter and it did what it does now...but it allowed me to enter , do my title and description etc. so I assumed my entries were valid. I was unaware of any time frame as when you look at the goals it just says the date...no specific times. If it is in the general rules I missed it when I read them...my bad. lol. I was just surprised when I checked my email to see the notes from the moderator saying they had been removed...I was baffled and thought how were they not on theme...then realized it was about the time I entered them. Contest Moderator: The explanation was given to you in the messages as well as the time that contests end.
Now as to the "automatic" closing. It is the choice of the site owner and admin to close them manually. He has chosen NOT to set it up to close the contests automatically for his own reasons. The contest has details that show the countdown in days, minutes, and seconds. It is not hard to figure out that time has run out.
The contests end after a week and a day at 2000hr GMT. Use this site to find out what GMT means and it.... http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/ ( 5 years and 2984 days ago )
Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
I think that the gimmick here is that the tips of the fork have been bent outwards, giving the impression that they indeed sink into the animal's flesh. If so, then very well thought of, and very effective. All told, well done, author!

I don't think you are far enough away from the rose.
author says:
I didn't get out a measuring tape, but it looked about 3 feet. Taken at f32
i agree with "friiskiwi" and btw you don't need to get a tape to measure the distance .. it's only 1m .. if you are away from the flower 1m, then i guess the flower is giant
author says:
Yeah, they were pretty large roses = but vote how you feel, of course

Medium rare please. I like a little 'moo' left in mine
Did you cut the fork author? I thought it was ps for a sec :P Result is pretty cool.
Thank you all for the comments! The very tips of the fork tines were cut off in an attempt to maximize the illusion.
Thank you so much everyone!
